Looking back at 2020...

When we look back at 2020 it was year of back and forth, changing circumstances, ups and

downs, political and social division and it looks like there is probably more of the same to come, but we as believers can be confident in this; our Lord Jesus Christ is the same yesterday today and forever (Heb13:8). When things are crazy around us, we can be sure our Father in Heaven sees, and we are safe in Him.

What happens during these times of uncertainty is that the enemy will send out his army with waves of fear and panic Be sober, and vigilant because your adversary the devil walks about like a ROARING lion, seeking whom he may devour. (1 peter 5:8) One thing about these waves of fear and panic is that they can be LOUD to us. What do I mean by that? When the enemy comes, he speaks fear and lies to us, he knows our weaknesses and our past. He knows what will scare us and what will torment us. So what do we do? The first part of the next verse in 1 Peter says to resist him steadfast in the Faith. To do this we must first recognize what is happening and realize that fear and torment is not from God, if we do not, we will look to blame people, places and things for how we feel. Then when we are resisting, we can take comfort in the rest of verse 9 where he says knowing the same things you are dealing so are others in the faith. You are not alone! What a comfort to know we can share our fears and others will understand.

Always remember, God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind (1 Timothy 1:7)
