Who Are You?

Do you know who you really are?

God Told Simon who he was:

“Now I say to you that you are Peter (which means ‘rock’), and upon this rock I will build my church, and all the powers of hell will not conquer it.

Jesus called Simon as one of his disciples, He changed his name to Peter,

The Rock!

Strength and stability!

This was significant! Jesus Prophetically declared to him, a name that he had not yet stepped into!

Right then Jesus marked his future for great things!

This shifted Peter’s identity!

He’s now identified as The ROCK!

This was strategic on Jesus his part!

It changed the way Peter thought about himself!

Now he sees himself as the one who possesses strength and stability!

Rut-Row!!!!!!

In Luke 22:34

We see that Jesus prophetically declares over Peter that he will deny him three times Before the rooster with crows.

Peter quickly denies that he would do such a thing!

However, the real test came after Jesus was crucified and Peter watched the vision die.

Feeling Angry, abandoned, and without direction, he did the only thing he knew to do. He returned to his past

At that moment, He lost his identity and returned to who he previously identified himself as – a fisherman!

Peter no longer saw himself as the rock with stability this point!

Question:

Did his true identity change at that point? Did Jesus no longer see him as Peter, Petros the rock?

The enemy will always try to challenge who we really are!

Nothing changed with God.

But Peter’s eyes were taken off of his true identity.

Because of his mistakes, he thought he was disqualified. Peter believed the lie!

Peter believed there was only one chance, and he blew it.

He disqualified himself from his true identity.

When our identity gets challenged what should we do?

We declare from the Scriptures what Jesus says about who we are.,

God created us with choice to live in our God given destiny.

Or do we listen to the lies of the enemy and go back to our old identity??

So remember!!!

When the enemy of our soul releases fiery darts of lies, fear, doubt and unbelief....

We must remember to declare to ourselves who we really are, and who we really belong too!

John 8:32 says:

“Jesus said to the people who believed in him, “You are truly my disciples if you remain faithful to my teachings. (Original design, identity)

And you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.”” ( truth our protection for our identity.)

You were created with....

Identity and authority are linked together.

When we believe our true identity as sons, daughters of God,

Twe access Our God – given authority that came with our inheritance.

It’s time to remove the old grave clothes. They stink, they’re filled with death, fear, and deferred hope!

You are in a new season, no longer identify with past failures.

Remember!

You are greater than your latest battle!

1 John 4:4

“But you belong to God, my dear children. You have already won a victory over those people, because the Spirit who lives in you is greater than the spirit who lives in the world.”

Make a declaration. Take off your grave clothes AND put on the Grace clothes!
